footprints with the poem title

"Existential Footprints"

March 04, 20241 min read

As I walked out of the cool, wet grass
my bare feet touching the warm stone pavement
I noticed my footprints that were left behind
and watched as they faded and disappeared

The moisture that once painted my stance
gone from the visible eye
transformed into vapor
intermingling with the air
No longer an imprint
but something else

I was reminded of life
How our presence on this planet will
eventually
 over time
fade
  back into nothingness

 Not gone
just transformed
as we rejoin with the ALL THAT IS

How magical
to feel the earth
to leave my mark
and to notice and marvel at it all
